Does Bests have the Best Ice Cream?

Our next adventure brought us to Grand Bend.  Here we checked out Best's Homemade Ice cream.  We had different flavours again, including Pralines and Cream, and Chocolate fudge.  The regular size in a waffle cone is huge, but so is the price aprox $6 each.

Additional Comments:
  • Ice cream was home made
  • Price was very expensive
  • The patio furniture was too close together making it difficult for elderly people to maneuver around

The overall rating of our experience is 89/120 or 3 scoops of ice cream out of 5.

Ice Cream at East Side Mario's

Although not an official judging event, we want to thank East Side Marios for giving us free tiny ice creams.  We were finishing our dinner, and saw that one of the waitresses brought small ice creams to a nearby table.  Susan asked about the ice cream and the waitress said we could purchase them for $1 each.  To our surprise the waitress came back a couple minutes later and  gave us some of the ice cream cones because she had extras.  The ice cream was excellent, and you can't beat the price!  The size was also perfect for Elinore.

Tim Horton's

We decided as our first ice cream adventure, we would visit one of Canada's favourite fast food chain- Tim Horton's.

Our core group of judges will always include myself, Mom and/or Earl and whoever else wants to come.  There will be various guest judges throughout the season offering their expertise!  On this outing the judges include myself, Elinore, Chris and Jeff.

We each selected different flavours, from the simple French Vanilla to the more adventurous Cake Batter.  We also decided to get the "Gotta Have It" or large size in waffle cones.  Our evaluation of the experience is based on 5 key factors that include:
  1. Customer Service
  2. Taste
  3. Appearance (of product)
  4. Value
  5. Ambience
We will give each category a ranking between 0 (very dissatisfied) and 5 (very satisfied).

Additional Comments:

  • Customer service was excellent- the woman was knowledgeable and excited about product; offered samples without customers asking.
  • The toppings were to sparse
  • Ice-cream was too sticky/creamy for some judges preference
  • Washrooms were dirty
